IN via vela dieci - Ristorante

Highly recommend this place. We ate outside in a beautiful seating area but inside the restaurant is also stunning and unique. The menu features many options, both Mediterranean and Asian. Maybe not the best place to take younger children if they’re picky eaters or can’t sit quietly. Our son is 6 but loves sushi so it was a great restaurant for us. The food was amazing and the desserts were divine. Would definitely visit again if ever in Catania. The reason I gave the service only 4 stars was because there could definitely be some minor improvements. The waiters seemed less hospitable to us because we had our son with us. We had to flag the servers down several times to get them to come to the table.

IN is a beautiful venue in the heart of Catania, a stone's throw from the Ursino Castle. There is a large kitchen area, with a wonderful central tree and designer furniture to eat in conviviality. And upstairs an intimate and sophisticated sushi bar which winks at the New York club. The culinary offer is delicious and varied: from sushi to cooking and pizza and a wide range of drinks and wines. A small corner of exclusivity in the heart of my city, in via Vela 10!

The restaurant is beautiful but the food for the new year’s eve was disappointing: the flavors were plain, some food came cold (noodles) with undercooked fish which clearly didn’t look like sashimi and was expected to be cooked as a part of a warm dish; the desert was a disaster - I guess they sell it as a signature desert but it’s such a food waste as they brought the messy mixture of all kinds of sugary things for 2 people which we clearly didn’t finish. All of that for 130 euros (drinks not included) - I think there were lots of places where this money could have been spent better. The service - no comments, it doesn’t exist. Expect arrogant faces and passive aggressive attitude (not what you expect for your new year celebration), however some of the waiters were very sweet but looked like they were under pressure. I’m giving 3 stars just for the beauty of the location, otherwise I wouldn’t recommend going there based on our experience.
